The Huntsville Cave Rescue Unit (HCRU) will be hosting an orientation to cave rescue techniques this summer. "Technical Rescue Personnel: Cave Rescue Awareness, Operations, and Technician" is an NFPA accredited class with cert and non-cert options available through the Alabama Fire College.
If you haven't taken a cave rescue class yet, taking one will make you a valuable, skilled, and safer caver. If you are interested in joining the HCRU, it is not necessary that you take this class but it will help make you a competent rescuer.

Cave Capers is an annual gathering of cavers in Southern Indiana and is hosted by the Central Indiana Grotto.
The SCCI's annual Distinguished Lecturer with Dr. Hazel Barton on The Surprising Microbiology of Caves, Will be held at the Huntsville Botanical Garden on August 24th! For Tickets Contact the SCCI at info@scci.org.

We will be having our annual auction and picnic on Friday September 6th. Please bring Items to donate and help us raise money for the Grotto. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be provided, so bring side dishes and desserts.
Keith Darnell, and Layne Carter will be leading a canyoneering trip to Utah!! There are only 12 slots available, and priority will be given to Huntsville Grotto Members.
TAG Fall Cave-In 2024 will not be on Columbus Day weekend this year. It will be the weekend before, on October 3rd-6th.
